BabyComfyNose employs the human-suction method is by far the most effective way (outside of hospital suction) to remove nasal mucus in small children. A fundamental principle of fluid dynamics is that, given constant pressure, velocity decreases as volume increases.  The center of the BabyComfyNose is wider, like an egg.  the air velocity of the suction force is reduced in the midlle of the unit.  This creates a 'break', where air flow is insufficient to pull heavier mucus droplets up to the opening of the suction tube.  This effect has been confirmed by independent testing.

Household facial tissue inserted into the body of the BabyComfyNose is actually a more absorbent and effective filter than foam rubber. Tissue pores are much smaller than those of foam rubber, and tissue is an inherently absorbent material, whereas plastic foam rubber is not. The result is that tissue is just a better filter.
